Date: September 11, 2014 Categories: Blog

It’s that time of year again! The Gretna Heritage Festival is right around the corner and the organizers have pulled out all the stops to celebrate its 20th Anniversary “like you’ve never seen or heard before.”

This year, the 3-day event kicks off on Friday, October 3rd at 4pm, with gates opening at 3pm, and doesn’t stop until Sunday, October 5th at 9pm. There are an assortment of ticket options and children 12 and under are free.

Beyond the 6 stages featuring a variety of stellar musical performers, such as Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Funky Meters, Amanda Shaw and the Chee Weez, just to name a few, there will be a wonderful selection of collectibles from local arts and crafts vendors, a mouthwatering and culturally diverse menu in the food court, an Italian Village with St. Joseph’s Altar, German Beer Garden commemorating the official start of the Oktoberfest season, as well as fun carnival rides and games for the entire family.

“Encompassing 25 city blocks, this award winning festival promotes and supports businesses and organizations in the City of Gretna, La,” according to the Gretna Fest Website. Presented by Cox and sponsored by an impressive list of local businesses and organizations, festival goers can find out all they need do know about free parking, shuttle services, maps, schedules, vendors and more on the website.

So mark your calendars and bring the whole family out for what is sure to be the best Gretna Fest yet!
