Annual report highlights accomplishments and goals

Date: August 6, 2014 Categories: Blog

The National Children’s Alliance (NCA), a professional membership organization that provides training, support, technical assistance and leadership on a national level to local Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) and offers membership at varying levels of accreditation, recently released its 2013 annual report.

The report included updates on the last year in child abuse treatment and awareness efforts throughout the United States, as well as plans for the future. We will be featuring some of the report’s statistics on our social media accounts and encourage you to read the report here to learn more about the incredible impact CACs are having in their communities.

Quite possibly the biggest accomplishment of NCA members in the report was the number of children served.  Across the country, 294,000 children received services from a CAC in 2013!

Another highlight was NCA’s “Stand Up, Step Forward” awareness video that went viral.  This short segment “touched a chord with the public and not only are people watching the video – thousands are sharing it, commenting on it and becoming followers of NCA and its members.” To see what all of the buzz is about and become one of more than a half million people who’ve been touched by the powerful message, click here.

The National Children’s Alliance annual report concluded with plans for the coming year, including revising accreditation standards, continuing research projects, advocating for federal funding of children’s advocacy centers, educating policy makers and the general public on the value of CACs, as well as expanding an Outcome Measurement System for CACs to measure client satisfaction and multidisciplinary team support.
