We raised $32,000!

Date: July 2, 2014 Categories: Blog

The Jefferson Children’s Advocacy Center’s 3rd Annual Step Up for Children Gala was a huge success!  We had a great turn-out and raised over $32,000 for the JCAC.  The funds raised will support us in our mission to investigate, treat and help prevent child victimization in Jefferson Parish.
The evening’s activites were led by our energetic emcees, Melanie Hebert, JCAC Board Vice-President, and Jay Galle, WDSU  meteorologist.  The Yat Pack kept the night rolling with live entertainment featuring covers of Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Billy Joel and more.
Local news anchors and artists were asked to decorate step-stools to be sold at our live and silent auctions. The decorated step-stools went hand-in-hand with the Gala’s “Step Up for Children” theme.  Simon Hardeveld painted a stool for Susan Roesgen (WGNO) in-line with his signature style, Jenny Sklar designed a stool for Sheba Turk (WWL-TV), and Christy Works-Boutte, as well as Keith Eccles donated their time and efforts to decorate one of a kind stools that were truly pieces of art.
Over 25 items were available in our silent auction, that included signed sports memorabilia from the Saints, Pelicans, and LSU Tigers; gift baskets stocked with certificates to local sites and restaurants; as well as beautiful art and jewelry from local designers and businesses.
Thanks to everyone who made our 3rd Annual Step Up for Children Gala a success!  We hope you mark your calendars for Saturday, April 18, 2015 and join us next year!
